Block Frequency Converters

Block converter units from Peak Communications are designed to be fully compatible with a wide range of L-Band modems and frequency converters. Block conversions covering C, X, Ku, DBS & Ka-Bands are available in the following versions;

• Rack mount; the most basic versions available, without a full front panel & remote control.
• Rack mount with a full user interface; for applications requiring gain control, power monitoring or remote M&C of alarms, range switching etc.
• Rack mount, hot-swappable; modular format for space conscious applications, providing a full 1+1 system in only 1RU, available with or without a full user interface.
• Remote mount; outdoor weatherproof designs with or without remote control.

All utilise externally phase locked dielectric resonator oscillators (XPDROs) and are far superior in stability and phase noise to voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), as commonly used in other BUC designs. Units have a highly stable internal reference signal and automatically detect and lock to an external 10MHz reference signal, when applied.
